Works on Ubutu Linux & XP Pro

Plugged card in, loaded drivers (for XP) and was up and running in 10mins. Booted into Ubuntu (Gutsy 7.10) and installed MythTV, configured it and watching TV in 15mins. Works perfectly! This is one card that is supported well in Linux (having previously tried others) and works.

It's low cost, easy to install and setup, and seems to work well with MythTV on an Ubuntu Edgy box.
Card was detected automatically be the kernel, the only software I installed was userland stuff (mythtv, dvb-utils etc).
I'm happy.

I have this working with Gentoo linux, needs a good arial but very little processor impact to record programms.

Vista support good!

Hauppauge have been very quick to publish Vista drivers on their website which seem to work very well (though I have not had much opportunity to test, since I've only had brief access to an external aerial so far - no luck with an internal one). Additionally, the remote control provided works immediately with the latest drivers to control Windows Media Center (and can be configured to control any other app for that matter - just edit Irremote.ini to add more applications).
The WinTV software provided is quite poor (just use Media Center instead) and getting the drivers working can have some problems, but once it's running everything is fine. Good value for money.

TV cards and Linux aren't always comfortable bedfellows, but this one works out of the box with ubuntu 5.10. Unfortunately and characteristically, though, Hauppage offer no official support for the platform

if you are going to use it with XP, or Vista x32, then it is fine.
If you have any plans to upgrade to Vista x64 then forget it. The company say they have no intention of providing 64 bit support for these cards, despite promising for 6 months that the drivers are 'just around the corner'

I had to download the drivers from the Hauppauge.co.uk website because the software given with the TV card was not readable. After managing to get it going I found it was a very usefull product. The remote that comes with it also controles Windows Media player controles which is handy when watching DVD's.
