WinTV-NOVA-TD turns your laptop or PC into a hi-performance Freeview digital TV receiver! With two built-in digital TV tuners, WinTV-NOVA-TD uses Diversity technology to get the best Freeview digital TV reception. WinTV-NOVA-TD is a small, portable 'stick' size device and comes with the Hauppauge remote control. It connects to any PC or laptop through a USB 2.0 port, plus is Windows Media Center compatible.
Watch and record digital TV in a window or full screen. Digital TV gives you better pictures and CD quality sound. You can also listen to DVB-T radio in stereo!

You do need to connect both aerials, I used 1x standard tv roof aerial and 1x supplied and get all the available channels in my area, although I am close to the transmitter (which helps) I am amazed at picture/sound quality! its almost dvd standard.
Easy to set up and works well on my Pentium 4 Dell Laptop under XP, but it does make the 3 GHz processor work hard. I'm in a strong signal area (I can almost see Crystal Palace) and I got 23 channels with just an indoor aerial and over 60 when I connected one of the little aerials as well. I got no channels when using my rooftop aerial, I presume because this feeds through my DVD recorder which probably blocks digital channels. The WinTV interface is just a bit clunky (hence 4 on ease of use) but given the recording functionality and the included remote, it merits a 5 on value. Hopefully it will work just as well in Norwich so my student daughter can have a cheap telly on her computer.
I am using this with MCE 2005. Took a while to work out how to get a decent signal but when I did, I couldn't believe my eyes, 73 services! two tiny ariels & one usb stick! software is not fantastic and the remote function has a mind of its own, but used with MCE 2005 I can't fault it. Heres the trick, find out information about your local dvb-t transmitter. Both my ariels are mounted horizontally. Having a clear view of a window helps too. Some transmitters broadcast most channels at lower power aswell.
