Works well

Have four of these babies striped to a Dell SAS 6/iR for scratch space. Nice and fast considering the price, no problems.

RAID-1
Reviewed by Olaf. Review Posted 02/10/2009
I plugged two of these in a RAID-1 config. This mirror replaces 4 older drives, which were straining my PSU. The Hitachis spin quieter and draw less power. However, access noise may be up a touch (2 heads working, instead of just one) and speed seems down a bit. I might buy a third of these to morph into a RAID-5 for increased performance.

Works great in Thompson Sky HD Box
Reviewed by Adrian. Review Posted 14/03/2009
I was dubious about putting a drive into my Sky HD box with only a 16MB buffer, but this drive takes it all and works well and quietly.
I would definately buy another one of these.

Saturn into Dell XPS 435 Intel Matrix RAID
Reviewed by Andrew. Review Posted 31/08/2009
There were compatibility problems with the Intel Matrix Array on my Dell XPS 435MT. The RAID hardware repeatedly reported drive errors (ECC) when in use and I had to give up. Used as standalone disks they seem to be working but overall I'm a bit disappointed. On the plus side they are quiet and achieve sustained data transfer at about 38Mbytes / sec
