Superb compact laptop

This was my first venture away from Dell for some time, and I'm so pleased that I went for it. The machine is very well designed, and the build quality is excellent. Some may find it frustrating not having a built-in CD/DVD player/recorder, but it's well worth it for the portability. Windows 7 is a revelation - everything is so easy to set up, whether you're installing new hardware or software. I've only found one program so far that I used with XP and can't use with 7. Style is very much a question of personal taste, but I love the brushed aluminium, and it makes the whole thing feel very solid. The ports are all in useful places, and the lights to show when the touchpad is switched off or the mute is on are really useful. Some have complained that the touchpad is hard to control. I decided to switch off the extra gestures (zooming in, rotating images, etc.) and have found it extremely comfortable and precise. All in all, highly recommended.
