The HP FireWire (1394) PCI Card allows high-speed data transfer between desktops, workstations and electronic communication devices such as digital cameras. With the HP FireWire (1394) PCI Card, high-speed peripherals can be connected externally, eliminating the need to install internal hardware making installation as simple as connecting the device to your computer. The PCI card features two external 1394 ports located on the PCI card bracket and one internal connector located on the front bezel. All a customer needs is an open PCI slot and Microsoft Windows 2000, Windows XP Professional or XP Home to create the ability of bringing high-speed peripheral connectivity to their desktop.
If you work with video or media-rich files you'll appreciate the speed of FireWire. Attach a FireWire compatible video camera and transfer video files to your desktop in no time. Coupled with video editing and DVD authoring software (included with all HP DVD+R/+RW drives), your desktop becomes a high-performance video editing workstation.
The HP FireWire (1394) PCI Card is compatible with all HP Compaq Business Desktops with the exception of those that do not have PCI slots and HP Workstations xw4200 and xw6200.
