This or a DELL one at £573 - Hard choice.

I have one of these at home.At work I could have had dual Dell screen at £573 each or these at £209 each. You would think the one over double the price is better. This one has a far higher (outstanding)spec than the DELL one. It has a matt screen so no relections from ambient lighting or windows or ceiling light clusters. Some of these monitors can have a black shiny screen suround, so I cover those up with Post-It notes. The drivers work well with Win7 allowing for screen rotation (good for web designers). All the developers in the office now have these dual 24" screen. Productivity has shot up. They are even better if you are using CS4 or VS2008. For home use, the HDMI Blu-Ray and gaming really allows it to really flex it muscles. Detail in the black gaming shadows is where very impressive. Better get one whilst stocks last.

Nice monitor

This is a great monitor. Fast delivery and no dead pixels.
You have to run at it 1920x1080 to get the best picture. The sound quality is okay (fine for background music or watching the occasional film).
It comes with a DVI and VGA cable, but no HDMI cable.
The stand allows plenty of adjustment, but you'll need software running on your PC to turn it into portrait mode (it doesn't change automatically) - the Iiyama software isn't very good, so I use my NVidia control panel.
Viewing angles aren't great, but day-to-day usage tends to be one person in front of the monitor, so it's not a problem.
Overall, it's the best big monitor I've seen under £200.

Iiyama ProLite B2409HDS 24" widescreen
Reviewed by Mike Bishop. Review Posted 09/07/2009
Screen is well designed/presented, slimmer bezel size 17mm (if you're wanting near seamless multi-monitor set ups). Connections ample with DVI & VGA & HDMI. It has speakers?! but I haven't bothered to plug into them as they'll be poor as with all in-built screen speakers.
Screen crispness is certainly achievable if you run at the optimum resolution 1920x1080. If you run at an non proportionate ratio such as 1280x1024, you'll get poor picture quality, fuzzy text, bad "focus" type issues.
Image colour rendition is very, very good but not excellent, but price reflects this. From my point of view being a professional CAD user also working with 12megapixel SLR photos, I'm happy to sit in front of the Iiyama all day.
