excellent

A very good product all round. You get the choice of esata 2xusb or firewire. I currently user esata for blistering speeds of between 80-105MBs for large single files i.e. .iso's. As you might expect it itsn't 1TB rather more like 888GB of space. Can't say i have had any problems with this quality product in over 2 months usage.

Drive started making a lot of noise after 8 months of light use. Stood on a fixed shelf in a well-ventilated room around 20C. LaCie support was prompt; the drive was replaced and a scruffy case replaced the pristine one of my unit.
A poor quality product that caused me a lot of unnecessary work transferring a lot of data so I could return the unit. Other drives (WD) that I have used for years have given no problems whatever. The power supply on another LaCie drive failed after 4 months

Drive lasted 4 weeks then died a death
Reviewed by Anonymous Review Posted 30/05/2009
Drive started haemoraging after 4 weeks and died with a final loud click. FAQ on Lacie site says this is the power supply failing. Have lodged a request with them for a replacement but really, unless they are using some dodgy, burn-your house down-Chinese PSU, this should not be happening.
