I've been using LaCie products for years, and never had any issues with any of them, and this is no exception. Network Space 2 is working just as expected and was very easy to set up. I highly recommend it to everyone who is looking for a high quality, fairly priced NAS.

I was looking for an easy to use network attached drive that would work well with Mac and PC. Having done some research LaCie Network Space 2 seemed like what I was looking for. It is indeed very easy to install, highly compatible. I've discovered that it even works with Apple's Time Machine. Overall I'm very pleased. The unit works well, quiet, and fast.

LaCie network drive

I've got the drive about four months ago. The setup went extremely smooth. The connection to the network was very easy and worked flawlessly. A lot easier than I expected. I just had to plug the Ethernet cable into the router, and install the software. Great product. I am using the 1 TB of storage for a backup drive as well as the FTP server.

I'm not that much of a techie, so I do appreciate the ease of setup of this product. I've plugged the device in to my router and it showed up on the network instantly. The software that comes with Network Space 2 is easy too. I currently have two PCs connected via Ethernet, all is working just fine. Good product.

Does what it says

Nice little product at an attractive price. Good design, not too noisy, easy to set up.
Handy eco feature to put the drive into deep sleep mode to save energy.
Only negative is that I can't wake the device up from my Iphone as it needs the Lacie Network Assistant (CD). Oh and also the on / off button on the device is not all that intuitive..hold for 2 seconds to start and 5 till the light flashes to shut down. But then again you only really need to do that once in a blue moon.
Overall thumbs up

I bought this to replace my Thecus N2100 which basically was noisy and annoying!!. Its silent (its in the living room my old one was upstairs and I could hear it downstairs!), very quick, easy to use interface and actually connects to the internet. Have never had any issues with Lacie products before and so far this one has been brilliant!

Constant clicking
Reviewed by Roger. Review Posted 24/07/2010
I bought this drive about two weeks ago. Worked really well for several days and the drive software is one of the best I have used. I am using it to back up my netorwk computers at home and it has eco mode acts like a server. However,it started to develop a loud clicking noise for several minutes. Tecnhical support at Lacie were at first very help full and suggested it was the power tranformer. But after its seemed to improve it has now got worse. Tech support want to reformat and try various things which I have done but I can't believ that this is a one off I have seen other complaints they must know why this is happening. they seem to be reluctant to take it as a return for such a serious floor in the drive. We will see what happens but i can't trust the drive with data anymore.

Great bit of kit!

I'm impressed! Had the box up and running within minutes, without the need for any software installation. Upload to the drive currently at 0.5Mb/second over ethernet/wifi. Also connected the hard drive ripped from my old broken Lacie Ethernet Disk Mini (xfs format)to the USB port on the side, and was able to recover all my old data - invaluable!
