Quality portable rugged drive

I travel often and needed a portable rugged hard drive that would safely hold all my photos, music, and would also work well with backup. This drive has everything I was looking for. It has rugged design, perfect size, not too small, not too big, it's lightweight and bus-powered. I have no complaints as far as the operation is concerned. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable portable hard drive that can be used with Macs or PCs.

I needed to secure my data when I travel. I was looking for a reliable, good looking hard drive that did not need an external power supply. LaCie Rugged is extremely easy to use, has rugged design and excellent capacity. The data transfer is fast. The unit looks and feels very well made. I'm happy with it.

I've been using this drive for several months now and have been very pleased with it. Pros: quiet, fast, sleek design, rugged, no power supply needed, good backup software, plenty of ports. Cons: it would be nice if there was a carrying case included. Overall I am very pleased with this drive. I have used it on multiple computers without any issues.

I've got two of these drives. One for backup and the other one for video editing. I chose this model for its speed, rugged design and quiet operation. Both units work great with my MacBook Pro and Final Cut. I'd recommend this hard drive.

The drive has plenty of strong points: it's quiet, high capacity, fast, easy to setup and use, highly compatible, reliable. On the top of that it comes at a great price, and has all possible connection options I would ever need. Highly recommend!

This is a great portable rugged hard drive. It's compact, has versatile connection options, runs fairly cool, and is very fast with firewire. This drive has been working flawlessly. Nice, dependable drive overall!

I have bought three of these drives in three years, not replacing them but more for different applications.
They are as rugged as you can imagine. I dropped one from 1m high to concrete and nothing happened. I use it quite intensively for my photo library. Though, one recently died (well, not technically but I found 8 bad blocks after diagnosis) and I decided to replace the drive myself with another one, very simple!)
So, Lacie has created one great product that I keep using them! Now I have three 500Gb rugged, one for normal files, one for backups, one for my photo library!
