The product looks great, the packaging good, documentation rather limited (referring you to on-line) and is quiet running. However the problems arise when you try to use this machine for NAS.
I was really looking forward to using this device on our network, the active directory option seemed the perfect solution to our needs.
Yet after several problems getting the machine to join the domain we were told by Lacie support:
"...it seems to be a similar issue we have noticed before with our other AD capable ethernet devices (2Big and 5Big) where it acts that it has joined your active directory but isn't able for some reason to pull in your domain users.
However the issue is that at this point short of another update specific for your BD...it may be that an issue with the device not fully integrating.
Checking our support page there is not yet an ETA for any further updates."
Not exactly confidence inspiring.
Verdict: Good idea but wait for an updated version.
