This does not offer RAID capabilities

In response to the other question - this unit does not offer RAID capabilities. There is a similar product that offers RAID 0 & 1: 301838EK LaCie Hard Disk MAX 2TB.

Usb lead is very short.
Bit too much noise.
But fast and loads of space.

slick and sexy desgin...

Excellent product, slick and sexy desgin by lacie again compared to the likes of Hitachi’s 2TB drive
I am going to one buy one now after seeing my mates one running, transfer rates are fast also with the LaCie USB boost, I thought it was just a sales gimmick with USB boost but I could see a 30% faster transfer speed compared to other hard disk that run on USB 2.0.

Not bad, but a few problems
Reviewed by Paul. Review Posted 28/12/2009
The Lacie 2TB "Neil Poulton Design" (USB) is a decent external drive for the money. But does have a few problems...
The Good:
- 2TB at a good price! 2TB internal drives are only around 20 pounds cheaper
- Writing of data is quite fast
- The power supply is small (unlike some of the older Lacie external drives)
- The power switch on the back of the drive is a proper flick switch unlike some of the older Lacies that had press button power switches.
The Bad:
- I own a few Lacie external drives and personally I think the "Neil Poulton Design" is not as good looking as the older "Porsche Design".
- The outer casing marks very easily, even finger prints mark it!
- The drive appears to be a Hitachi drive and it is a little noisey
- The USB cable into the unit, though it fits fine, is very slightly loose.
