Hi All
I have the Lenovo Z575 Laptop. (Lenovo are IBM)
its a really good laptop. so i was looking also for a tablet and found this. and after weighing up the options between Galaxy Tab and IPADs it seemed ludicrous not to try this because you get so much for the money. again it is my first tablet and already have the iphone.

I just couldnt see why i should spend so much money on a tablet with 3G facility when this does it all for £150

comes as 16GB and can have a 32GB exp Card
Has VPN & tethering facility
Robust body work with roll cage
Front and Back Camera
Dual Sim Facility
Back camera 2mg but it is really good
Front facing VGA

It means i can go to a site, have a job sheet sent through via email, with an App installed the customer can sign it on my tablet and using 3G and can email it straight back

Why have a tablet just on WIFI?

My iphone battery is so bad im going to buy the Lenovo p700 mobile phone. looks like ive made the jump to Android

Hope this helps

NOTE: This is my first tablet/Android device.

What I think is missing from the sales details are quite important and very hard to find until you have the product in your hands.

Here's what I think needs telling:

A big bonus with the A2017 is it does have WiFi AND 2 sim card slots, one shown as 3G/2G and the 2nd as 2G. Also a space for a microSDHC card. These are hidden under a cover around the rear camera.

Although it has the 3G this is for data cards, it is not a phone. You can use Skype however.

Between the 3G and GPS this unit is excellent when used with Google Maps. Works just with GPS but the map is basic.

I have marked it down a star because it doesn't have the following sensors:

Orientation
Proximity
Temperature
Gyroscope
Magnetic
Pressure

So no compass apps and Google Sky will not work fully because the Accelerometer only allows up and down! BIG LET DOWN, just as well the GPS works so well... It has light and sound sensors.

Will replace my laptop on holidays nicely :)

OK but but 3G can be flaky

This is basically a good tablet. The main reasons for marking it down are the problems I and many people have had with using the 3G facility, and the complete lack of interest from Lenovo in solving problems or even acknowledging them.

The screen has good resolution - there are better ones out there, but at a price. It is difficult to read in bright light but fine indoors. That makes the GPS of doubtful use.

Back to the 3G: there are two normal-sized SIM slots, one marked 2G and the other 2/3G. There are a number of menus involved in getting 3G working, not all of which are easy to find, and the manual is useless in helping. Some SIMS seem to work, others not. I have no problems with Three in the UK, whereas SFR in France I never succeeded in getting to work - it told me there was a 3G signal, received and sent texts, but no internet. If 3G is important to the buyer, it is worth looking elsewhere.

Battery life is good at about 8 hours, much less with the 3G SIM turned on.

Beware - Lenovo

The product was returned to lenovo to repair a small crack to the screen. The tablet was still in useable working order and only 7 months old.

Quoted £180 to replace the screen despite tablet only costing £150 brand new.

We requested tablet be returned without repair as the quote was ludicrous and it was still in working order.

The tablet was however returned from Lenovo with the screen completely smashed and not working at all.

Lesson learned, some large companies are not to be trusted. Poor product, and very very poor company.
