Very Impressive
Reviewed by Anonymous Review Posted 27/05/2009
Had this item for nearly 3 months now.
Gotta say I'm very impressed. The little blighter is, well, little and is fast as well. Splashtop boot is fantastic and sooo quick when you want to surf, email etc.
Doesn't take too much longer to boot to XP either.
Screen is comfortable to read for long periods unlike some of the 8 inchers and viewing angle is quite good.
Keyboard takes a while to get used to but overall, this is a great machine.

Delighted
Reviewed by Richard. Review Posted 09/05/2009
I bought this because it was cheap, however, I should have bought it because it is a fantastic piece of kit. This is up there with "enterprise" laptops that would have a price tag 5x greater. It's easy to set-up (with a recent XP-Home SP3 image installed so not too much patching, nb: MSOffice 2007 trial installled too) - Built-in bluetooth, SD card, mic, webcam - decent battery life (can push 3 hours), and excellent screen quality. This is a small laptop, but keyboard is still usable - the only downside is that the maximum screen resolution is 1024 x 576 which is generally fine - but every occassion it means you have to scroll a dialogue box around the screen.

Excellent energy management feature
Reviewed by Shakeel. Review Posted 09/04/2009
Lenovo have outdone themselves with this little number. Forget about missing red 'nipple this netbook does what its designed for - highly portable yet powerful enough to cope with everyday use software and also multitasking with ease. An added bonus is the Energy management software that allows reducing the active drivers to a bare minimum on top of usual screen and hard drive features. Add to that Dabs pricing and you've got a winner.

Works fine with Debian
Reviewed by Anton Ivanov. Review Posted 29/03/2009
Debian (lenny) runs like a charm. The only thing that I needed to fix was to install a WiFi driver from the Broadcom website.
Otherwise, it is a proper machine, none of the Asus/Acer idiocies which brought us back to the days of "Turbo" buttons and taiwanese IBM AT clone style power management. The CPU frequency scaling and the power management just work. It has proper bluetooth, proper wireless and proper network hardware (something the rest of the notebook crowd lack). It is also serviceable and upgradeable. Overall extremely well built.
My only complain so far is that "\" and "|" requires to use a Fn key combination and shift/up arrow on the right side can be easily confused. Gets some time to get accustomed to, so 4 on the ease of use.

Best netbook so far?... maybe
Reviewed by Davie. Review Posted 06/03/2009
Writing this on my lovely S10e, having had it for less than 24 hours. I'm taken with how capable this little laptop is. Being fussy about having all my frequently used software to hand, I set about installing (and uninstalling the minimal bloatware) and completely forgot myself - I had 3 explorer windows open, 3 IE tabs (inc Radio 1 player), 2 apps installing, the "ThinkVantage" software updating and an iPlayer program downloading at once. The S10e coped admirably. Don't listen to people who say these netbooks are woefully underpowered. Why exactly do you need to lug a dual core jugganought about for internet use on the move? Minuses would be the small keyboard, but that can't be helped ;-). Touch type veterans will take some adjustment. Battery life is not the best but I had about 2 1/2 hours on the first charge (balanced), which isn't too shabby. Well worth the money, especially if dabs do the special again!

Great Netbook
Reviewed by Graham. Review Posted 06/03/2009
If you want a Netbook that looks good for business, this is the one. Pro's: Excellent screen, XP (well known environment), decent positive keyboard, bluetooth built in, good online support in the way of documentation and drivers, great build quality. Easy to upgrade and 6 cell battery available if needed. Con's: Strange screen size, 1024 x 576 which makes some programs, applications, and games difficult to use. "E" = education version which means no one touch recovery as per standard S10. The price is very favourable and Dabs supplied the goods quickly and without any problems.

Specification correction, re your quoted T3 review
Reviewed by . Review Posted 03/03/2009
I got your promo email saying this netbook had come first in a review of netbooks in T3 magazine. That is true but I need to correct an important detail
The reviewed model had a six cell battery and six hours quoted battery life, not the three cell battery that comes with the model you are selling. Nevertheless, your price is good and the Lenovo possibly even beats the former king, the Samsung NC10, so five stars on that alone.

Nice design, very good build quality, screen is very easy on the eye, wireless, and bluetooth worked without issue. Very pleased, the only negative was the inclusion of Windows XP, this was easly replaced with "Linux Mint" works like a dream.

Fantastic
Reviewed by CS. Review Posted 16/12/2008
This machine is great. It is super quick to start up, it is small, and it fits on the seat-back tables on the train. You can make up for the lack of DVD drive by sharing the one on your desktop. This is not a replacement for your desktop / laptop - it should be viewed as a highly mobile supplementary machine. By the way, the battery lasts for 2.5 hrs between charges on a "balanced" power / longevity setting and the power brick is the usual small Lenovo item.
