Description
The Linksys ADSL2 Gateway with 4-Port Switch is the all-in-one solution for Internet connectivity in your home.
The built-in ADSL Modem function gives you a blazing fast connection to the Internet, far faster than a dial-up, and without tying up your phone line. Connect multiple computers to the Gateway via the built-in 4-port 10/100 Ethernet Switch to jump start your home network. You can share files, printers, hard drive space and other resources, or play head-to-head PC games. Attach four PCs directly, or connect more hubs and switches to create as big a network as you need. The Gateway's Router function lets your whole network share a single high-speed Internet connection.
The ADSL2 Gateway protects your PCs from most known Internet attacks with a powerful Stateful Packet Inspection firewall. It can also serve as a DHCP Server, and supports up to five VPN tunnel endpoints, so you can securely connect to corporate networks. Safeguard your family with Parental Control features like Internet Access Time Limits and Key Word Blocking. And even with all this power, set up is a snap with the web browser-based configuration utility.
With the Linksys ADSL2 Gateway with 4-Port switch at the heart of your home network, you're connected to the future.

Best Combined Router For Sure
Reviewed by Dave Collinson. Review Posted 04/11/2006
I've have had this router for over a year and purchased another 1 in recommendation to a friend for his Apple MAC Intel Core 2 Duo. Now some sites say it doesn't work but I knew it would. All you have to do to configure the router is install Internet Explorer 5. Unfortunatly Microsoft have stopped producing it but you can get it from www.Download.Com Install that then run the set-up procedure from the manual. Entering the IP address to get into the routers page and enter your information. Once that is done save settings done see who said it dosn't work for MAC. With my experience over the last year with mine. I've never had to reset it not once the hardware firewall that comes with it. As given me brillent protection cause Norton IS 06 firewall hasn't had 1 attack yet. You can't buy a better router combination for just under £50 trust me.

I got this to replace ICS on my home network, which kept locking up the host computer. I unpacked it, plugged it in, turned it on and it was up and running in minutes. I use wired and microlink dLan ethernet (homeplug) adaptors on my network without any problems at all. An excellent bit of kit and great next day service from DABS as usual

This modem/firewall/router/switch has every professional feature you could ask for, while remaining easy to set-up thanks to easy access via a web browser. The router allows me to take full advantage of always-on fast internet, shared between numerous PCs (including my work laptop connected to the company's VPN) without the need for any particular PC to be left switched on. I connect the AG241 to a separate wireless access point so I can have my switch and AP in different locations and get the best of both worlds. It also came with a microfilter and the necessary cables so no need to buy those separately. I especially like the fact that there's no driver software required on the PCs to use this (unlike with USB modems).

Great box - while it works
Reviewed by Chris C. Review Posted 21/01/2009
I have had two of these units. Both packed with features, such as the port translation etc. etc. which is very useful. However.... on both units a fault developed with the 4 port switch element of the unit causing drop outs and network issues. The unit would still connect to the net, but there was no network access. This manifested by degraded network performace over aperiod of weeks until it just gave up. Shame, as i was quite fond of it.
