Description
Wireless-G is the upcoming 54Mbps wireless networking standard that's almost five times faster than the widely deployed Wireless-B (802.11b) products found in homes, businesses, and public wireless hotspots around the country - but since they share the same 2.4GHz radio band, Wireless-G devices can also work with existing 11Mbps Wireless-B equipment.
The Linksys Wireless-G Access Point lets you connect Wireless-G or Wireless-B devices to the network. Since both standards are built in, you can protect your investment in existing 802.11b infrastructure, and migrate your network clients to the screaming fast Wireless-G standard as your needs grow.
To protect your data and privacy, the Wireless-G Access Point can encrypt all wireless transmissions. The MAC Address filter lets you decide exactly who has access to your wireless network. Configuration is a snap with the web browser-based configuration utility.
Future-proof your wireless network with the Linksys Wireless-G Access Point. You'll enjoy Wireless-B connectivity today, and be prepared for a high-speed Wireless-G tomorrow.

EXCELLENT!! set up in 5 minutes
Reviewed by Will Palfree. Review Posted 13/12/2008
This is the second one of these we have bought, very easy to set up and configure with the disc, no need to dig into techno bable like the netgear one (which took ages to set up, the netgear manual is written by some networking IT prodigy and we couldnt understand any of it!). It is on the big side compared with others and the price seams to have gone up a tenner from the last one, the range / signal strength is very good. Happily recommend it to anyone.

Very good.

Very good access point. Upgrade the firmware to latest version. To log on to the http config page you need to put in a blank username! Also when used as a repeater, it only works with other devices from linksys.

Simpl, Easy and Very Reliable

Out of the box into the modem, 2 x PC's and laptop on Linksys cards, 5 minutes were all on the network. What can I say but the most simple product to setup on a wireless network. So good I have implemented at work with 5 PC's and 4 laptops even the range is 50% better than other major products on the market.
Security for the office was simple and of high standard.
If you want to go wireless buy this.

Great Device

Very straight forward and quick to set up and get working. However it is well worth spending some extra time on the security settings, especially the MAC filters and WEP/WPA settings. The range seems to work well within my home and garden (I'm using the DabsValue PC Card Wireless adapter and they work very well together).
My only reason for not giving this three 5's is because it defaults to a non-secure set-up out of the box - but I think this is an issue that all manufacturers need to address and is by no means limited to Linksys.
If you want to go wireless, this is a very good way to do it.

Linksys Wireless-G Broadband Router
Reviewed by . Review Posted 21/01/2004
The option of hardwire and wireless connection from a Broadband router appealed to me-reason being if I was not satisfied with the wireless connection then I could revert to hard wiring it.
However after purchacing a Linksys PCI wireless-G connection card for my sons computer and a Linksys wireless-G notebook adaptor for the families laptop all I can say is, superb, freedom at last, no queing to use the internet and total freedom of the house with the laptop, anywhere any time just what we needed. I would reccomend the product to anyone.
PS I almost forgot-I received my order next day from Dabs-excellent well done from one very satisfied customer.

Easy to configure and use; have installed in multiple locations in various configurations (as a WAP, repeater for another WAP, roaming access), and it's performed well in all circumstances.

Good, but needs a little TLC.

Within 5 minutes of getting the box I was online via my G4 iBook. However I did have some headaches getting it all secured. Turning off SSID was easy, as was the adding of the mac filters.
The one area where this device did cause a little headache was with WEP and OS X. Although after about an hour and a half of Googling I had it nailed.
The verdict, great device, easy to use, but you have to be aware that you need to change a few things before your wireless network is as secure as you can get it. (it comes with a lot of insecure default settings.)
I would recommend this product to anybody needing to expand their existing home networks. It works flawlessly with the Linksys BEFSR41 which is all I wanted it to do.
Now I can work in the garden. Nice.

Support a Little Lagging
Reviewed by Simon. Review Posted 28/10/2005
Keep your receipt. One day the power supply might disintegrate on you, and you'll be unable to go through Linksys support without a valid proof of purchase.
Other than that, very easy to setup, very simple to use. Might require a little tweaking to get your desired setup, but it's quite flexible with it's security features.
I believe you can also flash the firmware with a custom Linux variant and achieve even more, but that would invalidate warranty. However you can link it in with a Linux system and provide Radius Server protection (though Im still learning that).

Crashes a lot
Reviewed by Anonymous Review Posted 22/06/2005
Easy to install and set up, on the Internet within minutes. Used with a Linksys WUSB54G wireless adapter. Great for surfing the web at broadband speed, but crashes regularly when attempting to use as a wireless network between two or more machines. Not recommended.
