This is a great keyboard for typing upon. The feel is very similar to the pre-chiclet Macbook Pro or Thinkpad keyboards. The keys are relatively low action and easy on the joints. I no longer have to have a keyboard timer tell me to take a break because of joint pain. This keyboard is expensive, but worth every penny in my opinion. I have one of these keyboards at work and one at home. I've been using these keyboards for a couple of years and have found them to be excellent wearing. No issues with either keyboard after extensive use. Backlighting looks exceedingly cool, not least because my KVMs continue to power the keyboard after the PCs are asleep. I'm a touch typist so rarely use it. This may not be the keyboard for you if you are a hardcore PC gamer. I've read reports that it doesn't function too well with heavy game demands. From experience, it seems fine for casual games.

I do not normally bother to write reviews but after reading the review about durability I had to write this. I have been using the keyboard for over a year now and have to say it is still working perfectly. All the keys are very responsive including the spacebar. None of the key tops have come off and do not look like they will do in the near future. This is by far the best keyboard I have ever used! Buy it and you won't look back!

Best backlit keyboard I've seen

I've had a low profile keyboard before, and promptly sold it as I found I was getting killed in unreal tournament alot more !

I also had a microsoft reclusa because it was backlit and had full height keys, but that thing is huge and heavy and I just didn't like it. Plus the backlighting was poor.

The logitech is normal size, very sleek, the keys have a nice feel to them and 3 levels of white backlighting are great. The low profile keys didn't cause me much grief in gaming, but I would prefer full height keys. (although it would detract from the looks). Don't like the clear perspex around the edge, but that's a niggle.

If they could just make a wireless version i'd buy one of those too (for the living room)

This is a lovely keyboard. The illumination actaully makes it so easy to use in all lighting its worth it just for that. But the software is very neat too. It allows you such great things as disabling keys at certain times. For example, the microsoft key between ctrl and alt, so you dont drop out of a game by accident when you hit the key, and to permenantly disable the caps lock ( who wants it anyway? ). And to replace the standard function keys with fully programmable keys of your own. Three levels of brightness, a volume control, what more could you want?

Bought to replace a Microsoft reclusa, I have to say that I find the Logitech a far superior keyboard. It is quieter and the keylighting is much better than then reclusa backlighting. The reclusa keys are actually a bit difficult to read because the backlight is so bright. Also the Microsoft is made from clear plastic painted black, and the black starts to wear off after a bit. Not good. The Ligitech suffers from none of theose problems.

This is the best keyboard I've ever used. The illumination feature is the most obvious thing you'll buy this keyboard for, but it has a few other nice touches, like screen display for keyboard shortcuts like caps lock and volume control (just like on the tele), etc. Overall the keyboard is really well built and feels very solid. Attention to detail makes this a quality product, even the packaging has been well thought out. Usual Dabs speedy delivery and ease of ordering. Oh and the font used for the characters is especially swish.

My face lit up the moment i unboxed this keyboard. The keys are uber soft under the fingers and with a great surface area. I have never had a keyboard that i want to finger before, but this one is just a pleasure to type on. Also i was quite impressed with the ability to dim down the keyboard light. A feature that i hadn't noticed until playing with it.

Up-graded to this keyboard from a Saitek Backlit keyboard which was the bee's knees when released and still performs well today but the difference switching from a backlit key to an illuminated key places a smile on my face. The problem with the backlit key that in low light the characters were impossible to see all you saw was the outlined shape of the key, were as with an illuminated keyboard the characters are all you see. Shame there is no matching mouse....maybe soon eh!

This keyboard looks brilliant, is nice & quiet & really comfortable to use.

However, the space bar does not work everytime along its whole length & after only 3 months the key tops started coming off.

Ultimately a good looking piece of equipment that is let down by faults & reliability problems. Not man-enough to do the job.
