The X-540 speakers use FDD2 (Frequency Directed Dual Driver) technology to produce a uniform soundfield anywhere in the room. Immerse yourself in the game using the selectable matrix mode, which automatically creates 5.1 surround sound from common 2-channel stereo sources. The compact satellites are wall-mountable, and a special clip lets you place the center channel speaker on top of most flat-panel monitors to reduce desktop clutter. Lots of good reviews on AMZN so not going to repeat that. Only shortcoming is that the cables for the front speakers are rather short (>2m). The ones for the back are better but still not long enough for me.

I started thinking about buying these speakers after reading a very good computer shopper review of them.
They arrived on time and in good condition. They were easy to set up and although the wires are messy this is to be expected from any lower priced 5.1 system. I would have appreciated a little longer wires, but they are not drastically short. The wired remote sits on my desk within easy reach, exactly where I need it.
Very little to say about the sound, they are just generally fantastic, at half volume they sound loud and the bass is strong. I played flight simulator with them, I could almost feel the engine rumbling under my feet and the wind rushing past the windows and under the wings, I really felt involved in the game.
So, to sum up: I am very happy with this purchase, the speakers sound great and for this price are very good value. Just one thing: If your master is on full the speakers will crackle. Put it down to about 3/4, don't worry you wont be lacking in volume!
