Logitech Z 5500 Digital - PC multimedia home theatre speaker system - 505 Watt (Total)

This is one VERY amazing speaker system! I have had this for a few weeks now and in that time it has been used for gaming, music and movies and in each area the sound cannot be faulted. Crisp, clear highs, deep, pounding lows and everything in between, my old digital speaker system was nothing in comparison to this! There is only one problem that I have found with the unit..... One of dabs.com's competitors has recently had the new z906 system up for the same price, as you can imagine I was kicking myself when that came on offer shortly after receiving this unit but that is only because of the extra control and connections the other unit offers. However, this was not enough to draw me into returning this unit, it works and amazingly well even for the price and I fell in love from the moment I plugged it in and played my first song!

The Logitech Z5500 Speaker System really brings a smile to my face. Unpacking it when it arrived was a real joy, especially to find just how large and well build the sub actually is. The system sounds really clear with great definition throughout the sound range (given the price), the sub is especially strong and does not suffer from any vibration or crackling. Plenty of wire is supplied with the system allowing the speakers to be placed easily around the room. The overall unit is very loud indeed and the sub really does make for an explosive sound environment - it can emit pulses of very low frequency from game explosions etc that add to the gaming experience enormously! Only down sides are that the switch to turn off the system is located on the back of the sub, also the controller has a fairly cheap feel to the volume knob – but I have no regrets at all from purchasing the speakers, massive improvement on sound quality and impressive performance. I would definitely recommend!

Having gone from a cheap brand (Trust), to logitech, (being well known but not to expensive, more of a mid-range brand) I did not expect this. For around £200 I figured they would be good, but these are simply incredible. The bass is HUGE compared to my old set, and the satellite speakers are astounding. These speakers have won awards and for a good reason. Everything about these speakers shouts value, quality and grace. They look sleek and exceptional, coupled with the interchangeable covers, adds a whole new dimension to speakers at this price. If you are considering buying a 5.1 system get these. Absolutely nothing at this price can match these, even at £300 you would struggle to find a better set. Logitech as a brand name are, as before mid-range for price, but outshine any other mid-range brand name in quality and challenge even top brands. Make no mistake, at £200 you would be simply silly to buy a different set of 5.1 speakers that are on the current market.

Great set of speakers at an amazing price. Arrived very quickly as usual with dabs (2 days!). Took me a while to wire this up, but it was well worth it in the end. I have it hooked up to my Playstation 3 using a digital optical cable, bought at the same time (quicklinx: 3B48DM). GTAIV is a totally different experience now!

Amazing speakers at a reasonable price. Have had a few issues and had to get logitech to replace the set once but they are quick sending them out and helpful on the phone, to collin below, sounds like the little fuse in the back of the subwoofer has blown, get in touch with logitech through the website and they willhelp you.

Hi all. Um sorry to ruin the good reviews here and having to be the one different here. When I got it on Fri April 25 everything was going so well until on Saturday April 26 where I thought I'll try it on the Plasma so I can play it through my Ps3 but stupid me after all that time and trying to hook it up lol I realised that I had to buy an extra thing for it unlike I dont have to for the Laptop and I didnt even switch it on, so I moved it back upstairs on to the Laptop and for soome weird reason It's just not turning on at all mean they cant be a faulty wire already? Any suggestions on this? Thanks

The ability to connect my Digi Box and PC to the same set of 5.1 speakers led me to this product, but I didn't expect such good sound quality. Yes, the Sub is huge, but it is attractive and becomes part of the furniture. I like the fact that they use proper speaker cable, so I can buy extra and wire it behind the skirting board when I get time. For the person wanting to move the control unit further away from the sub - it is just a standard VGA connector, and Dabs do an extension cable. Works a treat. As usual Dabs were great. All in all I can't think of a better solution to me sound needs.

I got these a couple of months ago, deciding to upgrade from having my PC running through the stereo. This speaker set is highly impressive, delivering fantastic sound whether I am watching a DVD, playing a game or listening to music. The sub-woofer delivers excellent bass and the sounds from the speakers are without distortion. There is no perceptible hum or hiss when the speakers are on and no sound is coming through.

If there is a downside, it's perhaps that they're a bit TOO powerful! I've only been brave enough to jack it up halfway, and even that was risking a knock on the wall from the neighbours. This doesn't detract from the fun of them, but it is a bit like having a Ferrari but not being able to go over 70.

had the previous 5.1 speakers from logitech but were looking there age & decided to upgrade- They pretty much sound the same just a little cleaner I guess, but the sub hit much lower and is roof shakingly good. Everything I hated about my old set had be sorted with these. word or warning the sub has huge magnet in it, and even though manual stated 2 feet from an electrical equipment, my pc was effected from 4-5 feet away

These speakers are fantastic. My one and only gripe is that the fuse in the subwoofer unit blows from time to time (these are 20mm 2amp 'slow blow' fuses), but this seems to be remedied by be using a power strip that has a surge protector built in.
