supprisingly realistic

i played the demo when it first came out and i could barely run it. got about 20fps (not enough) on high settings with a 7900Gt graphics card. bought the full version recently hoping that i could run it at slightly higher settings. I was pleasantly surprised to find that even ultra high settings on everything got a very playable 60 fps + which was probably due to my pc upgrade to quad core and 8800gtx (worth it). as far as realism goes it is quite true to real life (if realism is turned up). I found it alot easier to play than fs2004 because of the virtual cockpit. all in all what i think im trying to strain out is a recomendation. If you've got a half decent pc, get it.

As a big MS flight simulator fan I was very keen to evaluate the latest version and see what improvements have been made since the very impressive and praised 2004 version, which would be a hard act to follow
It’s a huge disappointment I am afraid to say, I first tried to run it on my Athlon 2200XP with AGP x4 graphics, and it ran like a dog, so it was time to upgrade, now on a dual cord Athlon X64 4400+ with 2GB RAM and a PCI express based graphics it runs like a dog. Even the recently released patch which allegedly fixes some of the performance issues it is a huge disappointment.
The hardware resources that it needs are for hard core gamers only, save your hard earned cash for an add-on package for MS flight simulator 2004 instead and get more enjoyment.
