Good for desktops too

My Mum bought one for her laptop, then we bought 2 more! They are great value at £16.
The receiver part has no wires, it just slots into USB port. We found it worked fine when plugged into the back of a desktop machine some distance from the mouse. When not in use, the receiver clips into the back of the mouse, turning it off to conserve battery and also to comply with airline rules.
The mouse itself takes one AA battery which Microsoft says lasts typically 6 months. There is no installation CD (thank goodness) and the mouse is small and comfortable to use.

I am buying another of these as we have a new laptop in the family. Plugs and plays, every time, just like an old ps/2 wired mouse but 1000 times better. As a pocket sized portable solution this mouse is simply perfect. It is ideal for its intended purpose and what more could you want.
As well as all this, I like the way it emulates the VW beetle when you need to change battery.
