Happy 1st online shopping experience
Reviewed by Gordon. Review Posted 13/06/2007
My first go at trusting an online company, and my experiences seem to match others....dabs.com are spot on. They are now my first port of call for PC stuff. Ordered 16.30 Tuesday, arrived 13.10 Wednesday. Build quality is great, it feels like a solid workhorse, rather than a cheap toy. Great for those working with PCs. It also works with Linux (PCLinuxOS2007)although it shows no labels to that effect. It does need some shortcut buttons re-assigned however, but that's an easy job. All the main ones are fine as expected. That's a minor fly in the ointment compared to M$ normal tack. Dabs won me over before buying anything by the sheer amount of good feedback to their excellent customer service and value. I have now experienced that for myself...and they have won another loyal customer.

Can't fault it - Excellent
Reviewed by Geoff. Review Posted 23/04/2007
As far as basic desktop set-ups go, I can't fault this keyboard and mouse. I have just bought this one to replace an identical one that I had for 5 years, on which my left mouse button died. I know that these days there are so many other things built in to more expensive keyboards, but for an average user this is excellent.
The keyboard layout as mentioned is different, but I love it. I can't remember the last time I needed to use the insert key, so moving it and having a larger delete key which I use frequently is a great idea. To me, grouping the F keys in threes works too, and unless you are a very good touch typist it should be ok.
All preprogrammed multimedia and quick access buttons are easily reprogrammable for any function, and mouse buttons too for different uses with different applications, including the scroll wheel.
Great desktop set - buy one with confidence.

Nice combination for the money
Reviewed by Kumbaya. Review Posted 30/05/2006
This is a value-for-money package. I have bought several of them, and they are doing what they are supposed to.
A few small niggles though: one prematurely dead rodent, and one that required minor surgery in order to function correctly. This is the sort of thing we have come to love Trust for, and not what one buys Microsoft (hardware) products for.
If only one keyboard would have been a dud, I would have awarded 5 for VFM and 4 for EOU.
On the subject of EOU, the keyboard layout, as has been noted previously, comes from a different planet. There is a special key for changing the F keys to pre-programmed functions that I have never observed anyone being aware of, let alone using. It defaults to these ridiculous functions, and that is unforgivable, which knocks of one point.
On the whole, buy this before any other cheap set and you will probably be pleasantly surprised.

okay, but good value
Reviewed by Adam. Review Posted 11/12/2007
This is Great value for money and probably the cheapest desktop package I’ve seen anywhere.
First impressions were good; it looks good and feels ok and it was really easy to set up. The batteries in the mouse make it heavier though I now have a rechargeable mouse without AA batteries and it’s much easier to use. I don’t like the "F Lock" key though it switches between being able to use the F keys and some new keys on this keyboard (undo, redo, new, open, close) which is ok because I never use those keys anyway but i use the F keys and the print screen key and you have to switch between them using the F lock key.
After about a month of use the only real problem IV had with this is that the keyboard sometimes looses signal when I hold down buttons which is especially annoying in games and in Photoshop or fireworks where you can select different layers at once by holding the shift key down. I gave it 4 overall though for how good the price is.

Worked straight out of the box. The keyboard is sturdily constructed as is the mouse. Batteries are included in the price. My only gripe is with key arrangement as mentioned in other reviews. On the whole is great value form money.

OK for desktop use
Reviewed by S Jordan. Review Posted 26/08/2008
I bought this item about 9 months ago but only actually used it for a month. It is now a backup to my logitek setup. Great product if you are keeping it on the desktop, but its poor range when using it with a media center.

Bizarre layout, but not bad...
Reviewed by Mike. Review Posted 26/11/2005
First off, I must say.. the keyboard and mouse look great. It looks very professional not having cables on my desk. However, before buying one, take a close look at that keyboard layout. It's madness. The six buttons you'd normally find grouped together on a keyboard - Insert, Delete, Home, End, Page Up & Down have been rearranged very strangely. In fact, Insert has gone completely, replaced by a larger Delete button. Why ?! The other thing that strikes you very quickly is that every other keyboard under the sun lumps the F-keys together in groups of 4. This one has decided to do it in groups of 3. So whereas you're probably used to there being a space between F4 and F5, suddenly, F5 is crammed in tightly between F4 and F6. So... it looks good, love the multimedia keys, but go into buying this with the expectation that you ARE going to have to un-learn some of those touch-typing automatic keypresses that have become natural to you over the years. Vista - Dont think so
Reviewed by J.Shields. Review Posted 23/01/2008
Although i know this product to be a great product, i had one in my last job on a computer running XP, i looked to see if it would work on my laptop running vista - no such luck on install i do not meet the system requirements as i have surpassed them it only runs on 2000 or xp, so system compatibility is wrong, then says you can download the patch but does not specify what exact file to download. Hugh microsoft shortfall here.
