Good for the short term

Bought this card about 6 months ago, worked quite well at first, although scored lower on the Windows Vista Experience Rating than my previous (lesser?) Radeon card.
Unfortunately it has now developed a problem with the fan making a loud buzzing noise, can't see what is causing that. On closer inspection the back of the card is covered in some kind of residue as if the components have been burning out, even though I haven't been using my computer for anything graphically intense.
I would recommend this card as a temporary upgrade if you can't afford anything better at the moment but intend to upgrade again in the near future. But for a long term card it's probably better to skip this one and look for better.
