Great so far

I only plugged the thing in for the first time 45 minutes ago so it's too early to give 5 stars for everything. Wired connection was up within 5 minutes and basic wireless 5 minutes later - I upgraded from a Netgear DG834PN so the basic setup was very familiar, and I haven't tried the bells and whistles such as USB storage and media streaming yet.

If anything causes me to revise my opinion significantly I'll report back.

Firmware issue with no resolution from Netgear

I have had similar problems to over reviewers... intial setup was great, fantastic speeds and within an hour the problems start. The firmware appears to corrupt as menu options disappear, settings can't be changed and soft and hard resets don't resolve the issue. It appears Netgear are aware of this problem and the advice on one website was to wait for a third party firmware release. Not good enough Netgear!!! This has been a complete let down given the hype about this router.

Not all its cracked up to be

Arrived in good time and well packaged. The initial set up was quick and easy and first impressions were good via my wired computer. However I soon discovered that the wireless range was poor, even 10 feet away with an internal wall between me and the router the signal dropped significantly, with the connection dropping at regular intervals. Further away, approximately 25 feet away with the same wall between us it was almost impossible to get a solid connection, thats with a laptop, iPhone and iPad all failing. Tried in various locations but all failed with both bands ... the Belkin I replaced managed this with full strength signal ( although that had other problems). So returned and asked for a refund.

Wonderful features, dodgy firmware

I bought this to replace a Belkin ADSL router in order to get the dual band capability. The setup proved easy and it was very fast. However, after a while it the connection to the internet dropped out and it did not reconnect. Rebooting it brought it back online, but I found that the same thing kept happening. Checking the status of the router I found that it was still connected to my ISP, but all of the IP addressing had zeroed out. I called Netgear support and some parameters were changed, but the fault recurred soon after. A second call to support applied a factory reset and complete setup from scratch, but the fault recurred while still on the phone to support. I was advised to return it as faulty. Dabs.com sent a replacement, but it displayed the same fault. When I put it to Netgear support that there was a firmware problem they didn't deny it, they just advised me to try a different model of ADSL router.
