Great camera if it works
Reviewed by Steve. Review Posted 09/08/2009
I'm a wedding and portrait photographer and have been using two Nikon D3's for some time now and they have been totally reliable. I decided to invest in a Nikon D3x, mainly for my portrait work (although I shoot landscape for pleasure with the occasional commission). My first D3x gave an error with all my lenses so that got returned. The second camera seemed to be working fine and gave excellent results but within an hour the 1st CF slot started corrupting every card I tried (Sandisk and Lexar). Based on my experiences I wouldn't recommend the D3x because even if you get a working one how reliable will it be?
