Description

Finally a cordless Skype phone that does not require a PC. Just connect the DUALphone base station to your broadband connection, and then you can talk free of charge with your Skype friends or call other landline numbers worldwide - either using the extremely low SkypeOut rates or as usual via your regular landline operator. The popular Skype user interface and the attractive colour display gives you tomorrow's telephone today and for the future, because it is easy and simple to download new software directly from the phone.

The phone has superior sound quality, is naturally cordless and has a range of up to 300 metres. It is easy to install, easy to use and a natural choice as your conference phone.

what a great product, such an ease to set up had this up and running in 10mins. the call quality is excellent both on skype and Land line. highly recommended.

Easy to use, setup and is excellent all round. You get a free subscription to Skype Pro, so it's paying for itself straight away. Combined with the fact that you can use it as a DECT phone via your normal land line, means its the perfect solution.

Bought via Dabs (UK). Ordered on Friday, and as a first time customer Dabs were very quick with a few confirmation questions,and the box and arrived the following Tuesday. Really was plug and play. Let the batteries charge up, power on, and enter your personal skype information and it works. Don't even need to read the manual as it's all very intuitive. Been using it for a few weeks now and no problems with battery power (as referenced against other similar phones). Haven't used the dual mode to use it as an ordinary phone so can't comment on how good this bit is.

Why can't all electronic gizmos be this good?

Excellent packaging, superb documentation, very easy to set up, works like a charm.

You'll most likely need a PC to install the Skype client on so you can add SkypeOut credit and easily administer the account, but once that's done you can pretty much do everything through the phone itself.

Saves a fortune on call charges, and the phone updates itself constantly with how much credit has been used, so you always know how much has been spent.

One note though, make sure you update the firmware (very easy to do) as chances are it'll be well out of date as supplied.

Excellent battery life. Easy set up. Intuitive phone menu. Altogether an extremely good product.

My only gripe, and it's a small one, is that the ring tone selection is limited and the tunes are terrible.

This is a great piece of kit: simple to set up and use, and good call quality. It makes Skype-in and Skype-out services practical. Not sure why anyone would want to pay line rental and call charges now VOIP is so easy to use.

A very poor product

Although the phone has almost all you would ever require in a Skype phone and is nice to operate with clear display, the styling could be improved, other than those few points the phone is a piece of junk.

I can put up with the fact that right from the start caller display would frequently fail requiring a reboot of base unit to restore it for a short while.

I can also put up with the Skype ringtones distorting to the point it was unbearable to listen to.

I can almost put up with the fact that the charging circuit has now failed which means the phone will not accept any charge until the battery dies completely, usually in the middle of a phone call.

But what i will not put up with is the fact the thing has caused my internet connection to be destroyed which has taken two days to restore.
And this has all happened within the space of fourteen months.

So much for saving money.
