Sensational!

I'm speechless! The monitor is so brilliant my pictures look incredible. I am a professional travel photographer and my work has never looked so good. I had an old CRT By Mitsubishi 930SB 19" before and this monitor just blows it away. I have not messed around with settings much. Just made sure the colour profile was correct. The size is ideal. I did not want a 22" as that is too small for my needs. My friend has a 22" Ilayma and I was never that impressed by it. I dont like 16x9 screens I just find them too narrow.
It is true the stand does not slip in easy. I used baby oil to ease it in. At one point I thought I was going to snap it so be careful but it went in after a good thrust.

Beautiful!

Bought this to replace my old Samsung 19" monitor, and I'm very pleased with it! Not only does it perform well in games with high resolution settings (only held back by my old graphics card), but also looks simply gorgeous! It's surprisingly light for its size and easy to handle. Not much trouble fitting the base. It can only be aligned one way and then locks into the desired position. No dead pixels and relatively easy to adjust the colours. The monitor is a bit too bright on default settings, but with some fiddling, it looks perfect. Also excellent service from dabs and Home Delivery Network. May not be a pro monitor, but it's definitely value for money

Great TFT, with great reviews

Not sure what the people having the problem fitting the base to the monitor is about. It can only go on one way(two pins in the stem align with two holes in the base), and then you twist shut the fastening screw on the base - 1-2min job, no sweat or tears. What is nice about this screen for a 24" is the 1920x1200 resolution. I had been looking at other 24" models and most use the 16:9 aspect 1920x1080. I prefer the extra pixels on this model. The display is excellent for a TFT, nearly as sharp and clear as the 19" G92f+ Viewsonic CRT it replaces. So while not a true pro-artists screen, the Samsung is about as good as TN based TFT's can get imho. low noise(i can't hear it at all!), low power and no dead pixels. So i'm more than happy with this model. Thank you dabs.

One more...

Having bought two of these monitors from Dabs for my Intel MacPro workstation I opted to replace my 20" Samsung on my G5 Mac. Once again, calibration was easy with colour temperature set to 6500ºK, luminance to 120 and gamut to 2.2. The entire operation took less than 5 minutes. Now I have 3 identical monitors, all calibrated with the Spyder 3 Elite giving the same colour space and tonal range. These really are exceptional value and for a busy working photographer like myself they will quickly pay for themselves through quality and consistency of output.

A lovely monitor for the price...

Paid for the next day delivery and it came before 10.30am. I had the Illyama monitor on order, but the delivery time continued to get longer and longer, so I cancelled that and went for this Samsung instead. No dead pixels (yet, fingers doubly crossed). Visually it is awesome, both onscreen and asthetically. The only niggly bit was getting the sceen on its little stand. I was worried I might damage the screen, but got it sorted with a little wiggle. Running at 1600x900, the video/photo editing and flight sim is so much better. You can't go wrong!

Amazing
Reviewed by Simon Brown. Review Posted 18/03/2009
Was delivered the earliest possible, so well done to dabs. This monitor is amazing, I originally had a 15" monitor, and the screen wasn't uncomfortably small, but I decided to upgrade. I though the jump from 15" to 24" would be relatively small. But when I set it up, it's HUGE. I couldn't believe the size, and the resolution is amazing. The picture is perfect, it's big, stylish and good looking. The only issue I had with it was that it was a pain in the neck to insert, and I though I was going to break it. Mu assumption was because the rubber wasn't stretching to fit how it should of. But I got it in, in any case. All in all, a very good monitor, and I don't think I'll need a replacement for years to come.

Samsung Excellence

Great performance for the money. Photoshop is amazing on this 24" Samsung, so much space on screen compared to my old 17". Out of the box the settings for contrast and brightness were way out but after installing the supplied software it was calibrated perfectly. Only a couple of complaints....the stand is a bit of a pig to insert into the monitor base, after ten minutes of fiddling I managed to get it to drop in. This monitor also comes supplied with a vga and DVI cable which was not clear in the detail....gotta send a DVI cable I purchased at the same time back now. Overall though, highly recomended.

And then there were two..

Yes, I did buy the second one of these. It was delivered this afternoon. It is worth noting that these monitors work well, very well with Apple Mac computers. It is also worth pointing out that the software that comes with it is not Mac friendly. However, this is not an issue. Any good calibration tool will do he trick (I recommend EyeOne 3 or the Spyder 3 Elite). Set up is easy but in Default form the brightness is far too high. Use the Advanced tools not the wizard to set them up. Luminance on Mac should be set to 120 and gamma to 2.2. After that following the on-screen instructions. Now properly calibrated the results are stunning. Wide gamut, great contrast and pin sharp images come to life on the acres of real estate. To find a comparable alternative you would need to spend 2 or 3 times this price. You will not be disappointed. They are black, sleek and very professional looking and the images they display are exceptional for the money. A great really buy!

In spite of the snow - the monitor eas delivered at 0850 am on Sunday morning (well done Home Delivery Networks). Opened the box, assembled the screen/base (a dab of Vaseline is helpful BUT be sparing...). Connected, powered up my Mac Pro and WOW! Calibrated and simply awesome. Must sign off while I now order the second one.....!
