This incredibly handy gadget is designed to allow you to connect SATA and IDE hard drives quickly and easily to any PC using USB. It is compatible with both 3 and 2 SATA and IDE hard drives, as well as any other IDE device such as an optical drive. The ability to quickly plug-and-play any hard drive gives you a quick and easy way to access your files or transfer them from one drive to another without needing to open up your PC. No driver software is needed - the Connect 2 just plugs in and is ready to go! Also included in the box are two rubber jackets to give extra protection to any hard drives you've taken out of your PC so you don't have to worry about them getting damaged. One jacket fits 2.5" (laptop-sized) hard drives, and the other fits conventional-sized 3.5" drives.

Comes with adapters for SATA drives, as well as both 3.5' and 2.5' IDE drives. Also capable of connecting to Optical Drives (e.g. CD/DVD drives) via the same cables. One of very few adapters that handles all these formats, a complete steal at the advertised price.
The attached disk is detected as a standard USB storage device (no extra drivers needed under most recent Operating Systems). Data transfer speed over USB 2.0 is quite respectable. The power lead for SATA disks is built-in to the unit, with an extra adaptor provided for IDE drives.
Also comes with padded Silicon "jacket" pouches for 2.5' and 3.5' Hard Disks, a US-style power lead (standard two-prong adaptor) and a UK plug adaptor.
Slightly cumbersome compared to a disk caddy given all of the adaptors, but supports a wide, wide variety of kit. 5/5.

Having got the business to buy one, (to replace an unbranded adaptor), I've been impressed with the reliability of this adapter.
Quick, effiecient no fuss access to HDDs, both 2.5" (laptop) & 3.5" (desktop). It also allows direct file transfer from IDE to SATA discs connected to it & v.v.
(Not IDE to IDE, but at this price, still excellent value.
Ease of use - hard to go wrong really - good. Decent length of power cable provided.
(PS SATA Laptop & Desktop drives have same size connections, in case you need to know.)
