It is a great drive and has made my laptop far more responsive. What I didn't realise when ordering was that the newer 7200.4 is also available in 320Gb form. Most of the reviews of the .4 series focus on the 500Gb flagship model. Had I known I would have gone for the 320Gb 7200.4 model which is the same price. Still pleased, a very quiet and vibration free drive.

I bought one of these (the ASG anti G-shock version) to replace the woefully slow Fujitsu 4,200rpm drive that came with my Sony Vaio FW11Z. Boot times and application load times are now noticeably quicker, and video ripping and rendering no longer has the jerkiness that came with the original slow drive. Well done Seagate; shame on you Sony !

This is currently DEC 08, the fastest 2.5" drive as rated on toms hardware website. It really is the fastest thing this side of Intel's SSD for laptops. I ran HD Tune on it and it has doubled the benchmark figures from my old 5400rpm 160GB Seagate drive. Recommended
