Perfect Replacement Drive in Acer
Reviewed by John Murray. Review Posted 02/01/2012
I bought this one of these drives in mid October 2011 as a replacement for a defective drive in my son's Acer laptop.
We're very pleased with the overall performance and we haven't experienced any of the vibration or noise issues noted by other reviewers.
The drive is considerably quieter than the Acer installed Hitachi drive it replaced.

Noisy? Vibration? Not in my Macbook...
Reviewed by John. Review Posted 30/06/2011
Very pleased with this – ordered it as the Hitachi was out of stock, but as this has a five year warranty I'm pretty confident of the quality.
I was nearly put off by reviews saying it vibrated, but in my 13" Macbook there are no problems at all.
Did a fresh install, which probably helped but the machine definitely seems a lot snappier.
Great!

Huge laptop storage
Reviewed by Paul. Review Posted 16/04/2010
I've just upgraded the HD in my HP laptop for the Momentus 7200.4 500Gb drive from a 60Gb 5400rpm one.
With the original HD running Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit I found applications and general performance slow. Starting up and shutting down took forever but it's a different story now!
I was considering buying a new laptop but with this install it's just like having one. Things are not now frustratingly slow!!
Although it's not the cheapest 2.5" 500Gb drive you can buy I can recommend it. All that remains to be seen is the reliability, however I assured 5years service due to the warranty. I'm not sure the laptop itself will last that long!

Sweet new hard-drive for my PS3
Reviewed by Sam Thompson. Review Posted 23/03/2010
Got this as a replacement for my Playstation 3 - the 60Gb it came with just wasn't cutting it. PS3 HDD: 60Gb Seagate Momentus 5400RPM 68KDWS : 500Gb Seagate Momentus 7200RPM A small word of advice for anyone thinking of doing the same - be very wary of the factory screws on the PS3's hard disk caddy - they are ultra cheap and wear down very easily! It's almost like they're made from metallic looking butter. Use something like a vice to loosen them BEFORE unscrewing, something I didn't do. :( The product itself, no complaints as yet, seems to do the job nicely!

Good but slight vibration hum
Reviewed by Anonymous Review Posted 10/10/2010
It's making my Sony laptop "fly" and would be rated as all 5's if it didn't make a bit of vibration noise when sitting on a hard surface.

Good performer
Reviewed by Isaac. Review Posted 19/04/2010
This is definitely a decent drive, however there's a noticeable (albeit faint) sound that comes out of it. It terms of speed, it rates extremely well the only slight issue being the noise and price.
These are only small gripes, so I'd still thoroughly recommend it.

Fantastic for Macbook 13"
Reviewed by Panos. Review Posted 07/02/2010
I bought this as a replacement for my previous upgrade Seagate Momentus 7200RPM 320GB 2.5" SATA, that was full.
Initially I made the mistake of buying the Western Digital Scorpio Blue 500GB 5400rpm that made my 13" MACBOOK instantly sluggish and with the dreary spinning wheel popping up regularly. I lasted 1 week. Now, I have the Seagate Momentus 500GB 2.5" SATA 7200RPM and I am back to normality.
This is great drive. I gave it 4 and not 5 stars because both the 320GB and 500GB 7200 rpm Seagate models suffer from a small but noticeable vibration. I have got used to it very quickly and the performance is 3x faster than the WD or the original Macbook drive. If you find it annoying put you macbook on a soft surface the vibration becomes less noticable.

Only 2 year warranty
Reviewed by Sharon. Review Posted 29/09/2011
Saw another review saying this had five year warranty, but when I checked mine on the Seagate website it says there are only 2 years. Too late to do anything as I have already installed the drive.
