Bought this to replace the 160GB 5400 drive in my 3 year old MacBook Pro. Three times the capacity and a modest increase in speed for around £85. Can't complain. The free delivery took a while (and it arrived in a box big enough to hold another 50 drives!) which was irritating but not a deal breaker.

I bought one of these a couple of months ago and I'm very happy with it. So much so I'm buying a second one for my MacBook and setting up a RAID 0 by removing the optical drive and doubling the performance of my machine. Cheaper than an SSD for the moment.

I bought this as a replacement drive for my old macbook drive to improve capacity and speed. Well this product has done exactly that. I've noticed an immediate improvement in file transfer speeds as well as the speed of opening and shutting down of programs. Boot time and shutdown time has also greatly improved taking on average less than 6 seconds to shut down and around 20-25 seconds to boot up.
This drive is no noisier or hotter the the original macbook drive. I have noticed that the drive puts a slightly bigger drain on the battery but this is not a factor worth making you consider other drives.
The price could be slightly more competitive but overall I am very pleased with this drive. Only time will tell how reliable this drive will turn out to be.
