I bought one of these for my mother-in-law's new Vista PC. She has a parallel printer/scanner that she wanted to use and the machine didn't have any parallel ports. The physical install took about 5 minutes. The only fiddly part was finding the right drivers for Vista (they didn't come on the CD) but they are all there on startech.com's website. So, after about 15 minutes in total, there is now a reliable parallel port where previously there was none. Price is good too!
