I bought this to share a scansnap scanner but it did not work. I contacted startech support (who were good and responsive). They told me that this device can only be used with USB 1.1 devices and does not support USB 2. As the descritpion does not state this I have had to return the device.

I have found that this device does not work with Windows Vista or XP on a number of computers and with a variety of usb devices.
