Cool piece of kit
Reviewed by Brin. Review Posted 31/01/2014
Got one of these via DABS - quick and reliable turnaround as ever. It was a replacement for my old Plusnet Thompson router, which didn't do decent wireless speeds and didn't have gigabit wired LAN. This was simple to connect - had the IP address in the 'quick setup' booklet, but also came with a CD for those lacking 'tech' savvy. Was easy to configure (had all the plusnet settings built in). Does the job - all in all a very nice piece of kit and at a reasonable price.

Good budget upgrade with useful parental controls
Reviewed by Ed. Review Posted 03/12/2013
This was an upgradfrom the "Technicolor" router provided by my ISP which was very slow with parental filtering enabled. Delivery from Dabs was within 2 days of my order - a little over-packaged, the outer cardboard box could have held 6 of them easily! Set-up was easy, a wizard asks a few basic questions (ISP/username/password) then simply replaced the old router with the new. The firmware as supplied was version 1.0 so I went straight to the TP-LINK website and upgraded to the latest version. (NOTE: If you plan to use OpenWRT with this router, don't do that - TP-Link have changed something in the bootstrap of the latest release which is incompatible with OpenWRT!) I used the "Firewall" settings to limit children's access during homework hours and after bedtime by device MAC address. This has been an immediate success (from my point of view anyway). The "Parental controls" section allows access ONLY during the configured times so not quite what I want. A worthwhile upgrade.
