Very Good Drive
Reviewed by Stairman. Review Posted 24/09/2009
Easy to install and run immediately - just plug in!
BUT this is a FAT32 format not the latest NTFS - this is not shown in the specification. I don't know if this may cause problems but none show at the time of initial use.

Very good design, though there is a clicking sound, but not loud, when working, will recommend this drive.

So far so good

Great value for money - one of the cheapest 1TB external drives on the market.
Plug n play as specified - my windows XP recognised it immediately and started working straight away.
As mentioned, it comes pre-formatted with FAT32, which may not be the best depending on your system. You can reformat this to NTFS (and at the same time partition it - but remember that this will WIPE YOUR DRIVE, so do it before you start using it!!) by right-clicking My Computer and selecting "Manage", then clicking on "Disk Management" in the window on the left, which will display all your drives on the right window. Right click on the the WD drive and select format, changing the file system to NTFS (you can select "quick format" if the drive is new to save time).
