Discover the virtual world and get the reality of your dreams with Meta Quest 2.
Almost everyone in the world has heard of the words virtual reality at one point or another in their life. Whether you saw it in a movie like Matrix or you heard about the Metaverse, the concept is always similar. A futuristic and immersive virtual world where anything is possible. Now I know what you’re thinking; Sounds unrealistic! Well I’m here to tell you that it is all too real and it is everything you imagine it to be and more.
As a sceptic myself, I tried Meta’s powerful all-in-one VR headset and it did not disappoint. Scroll down to discover more about my review of the Meta Quest 2.

So you’re thinking of investing in this virtual reality but don’t know anything about how to start, what it can offer you or if it’s even worth it? Let’s begin with setting it up and getting ready.
Join your new reality from anywhere
Setting up is easy and simple to follow once you put your all-in-one VR headset on. No manuals or distractions, just sit down, connect to the wi-fi and grab your wireless headset and controllers. Personally, as space in my flat is limited, I was really surprised with the ability to draw out my play space (mine was my kitchen floor) and set my space limits, for safe exploring.
Meta Quest 2 even alerts you when you’re close to a physical object! In your virtual home, which by the way looks like a luxury villa, you can find anything you can ever imagine like apps, games and more. Learn how to play the guitar, collaborate for work, do pottery or go to the Egyptian pyramids from your home.
Don’t just play games. Experience them.
Whether you want to be an astronaut fighting aliens floating in the middle of the galaxy or stand on top of a neon bridge while slashing beats (cubes coming directly towards you), you can do it all. The game Beat Saber even comes for free when you buy a Meta Quest 2!
This virtual reality hosts over 250 games, fitness classes, social and multiplayer entertainment and more. Bond with your friends over a game of baseball, visit an amusement park together and ride the most unbelievable rides. My favourite game by far was mini golf with friends! You can get transported to different scenes and worlds and play completely realistic mini golf with friends underwater or in mythical lost cities. And all of this from my kitchen.

Virtual workouts are the new trend.
Have you ever tried cycling in Italy, rowing in the river or skiing in the French Alpes? With the Meta Quest 2 you can do it all from home. Work out or practice yoga and mindfulness in exotic locations, or simply get motivated by real life coaches to exercise and loose up to 400 calories per session. Get into fitness alone or with friends for the ultimate virtual fitness experience and forget your gym membership. After all, physical gyms are so 2021 don’t you think?
My personal favourites are the First Person Tennis VR where you get to play tennis in a huge stadium and practice. I would also recommend using the Guided Meditation app to calm down and relax after work anywhere you want. My personal favourite is the Redwood Forest.
Travel the world & explore for free
Stand in front of the Eifel tower, the Great wall of China or anywhere in the world you’ve ever dreamed of visiting from home. Now games and fitness are all good and entertaining but how would you feel about talking a guided tour around the lost city of Petra and petting camels? I know, sounds too good to be true but the Meta Quest 2 is just that good. Just put on your VR headset, go to YouTube, pick one of the 100+ of popular travel destinations and find yourself in the path of a desert, flying on top of a pyramid or reaching to pet a camel.
My favourite tour ever is Petra in Jordan or otherwise known as the Rose City. I can safely say that after flying over so close to the tombs and temples of one of the 7 wonders of the world and learning all about it with my tour guide has changed my life. Tomorrow evening I will be visiting the Egyptian pyramids on a drone with my personal guide, what about you?
Front-row seat to everything you love
Have you ever wanted to get a private screening of your favourite series, the latest Netflix documentary or a live concert? With Meta Quest 2 you can kick back after a stressful day and binge watch anything alone or with friends in your private virtual theatre. With the power of VR technology, you can catch any live or on-demand content you want in your own, personal massive virtual screen that is equivalent to a 180—inch TV. Yes that’s right; 180 inches!
What’s amazing is that in the virtual world the screen moves with you so if you want to watch a YouTube video in the car there’s even a feature for that! Now apart from my favourite way of using this feature: Watching Gilmore Girls in bed, you can use it for watching 3D films, playing your favourite PC games on a huge screen with friends or even collaborating with colleagues. Plus, you get to enjoy loads of exclusive, original award-winning shows in your customisable virtual theatre. My favourite virtual theatre is the chalet in the Alpes with the snowy window and warm décor.
The final verdict
If you started reading this article thinking that VR headsets like the Meta Quest 2 are just a game, like Xbox S or PlayStation 5, I hope that by now it’s very clear that that’s not the case. The VR technology has developed massively to become an expanding universe of realistic experiences. From travelling to streaming, playing and working in a massive 180-inch TV and even meditating in the dessert, there is something for everyone. The built-in speakers, easy to use sensors and wireless design of Meta Quest 2 make anything possible for everyone. So my final verdict is that your experience with VR can only be limited by your imagination and that’s priceless!
